For 47 years, the Toyota Corolla has remained an iconic compact in the automotive industry, with nearly 40 million in sales and a strong following of loyal drivers. This year, the 11th-generation, 2014 Toyota Corolla will receive some surprising updates, including brave updates to the exterior that are already turning heads. All indicators point to the new Corolla continuing to carry the flag of its predecessors.

So far, it is the exterior updates to the Corolla that have the industry talking. It’s clear that Toyota is striving for a more modern design, as indicated by an altogether more expressive exterior characterized by distinctive creases and elegantly sculpted surfaces. To round out this new, more agile look, customers will have ample choice in wheels, from covered 15-inch steel to 17-inch alloy wheels, as well as three more exterior colors.

Under the hood, it is clear that Toyota remains committed to strong fuel economy. This year, an LE Eco grade trim will be added to the mix, which will be powered by a 1.8-liter engine that leverages Valvematic technology, improved aerodynamic design and low rolling resistance tires to achieve impressive fuel economy.

The interior received a boost of modernism as well, including available features like touchscreen audio, mobile device integration, power moonroof, back-up monitor and SofTex™ Seats.

While the 2014 Toyota Corolla is certainly a strong step into the future of this popular compact, it also represents the commitment that Toyota has to the core values that have made this car so great for so long. This includes the kind of fuel efficiency, safety and dependability that Waukegan dealers are proud to offer their customers.
