Jan 10, 2014

It was another momentum-building year for Toyota. Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., recently reported December 2013 sales of 190,843 units, a 2.2 percent increase versus December of last year (on a daily selling rate basis). It is a feat that certified Toyota dealers near Kenosha are certainly proud of, as it represents the commitment of Toyota automakers to a line of vehicles that consistently exceed expectations in the areas of efficiency, longevity and safety. Though these certainly aren’t the only merits of a given Toyota model, they nearly always represent the foundation on which one is built.

The success in 2013 was led by many familiar faces, including the ever-popular Toyota Camry and the all-new Toyota Corolla. Here are some of the sales highlights posted last month:

  • Toyota Camry is the best-selling car in America in 2013
  • Avalon sales increase over 20 percent in December; triple digit annual gains
  • Corolla records monthly sales of more than 22,500 units and a 4 percent increase for the year
  • The Toyota hybrid family retains approximately 60 percent of the market and sets an all-time sales record in 2013
  • The Prius family sees sales of 15,720 units in December
  • Toyota trucks record their best December since 2007, posting an 11 percent year-over-year increase in sales
  • The all-new Toyota RAV4 sees a sales increase of 46 percent with its best-ever December
  • Highlander sells over 12,300 units
  • Toyota Tacoma sees a nearly 13 percent increase in sales versus 2012

One look at the highlights above, and two things are clear: the Toyota line is diverse, and nearly every Toyota vehicle is thriving. It is something that Classic Toyota is  proud of, as it indicates the well-rounded, prosperous line of vehicles they are able to offer their loyal customers. And if 2013 is any indicator, Toyota is carrying a lot of momentum into the new year.
