We’re back with another edition of Classic’s Community Calendar for June! This month we’re sharing all of the fun events, parades, carnivals, paint nites, celebrations of love and equality, family friendly festivals, and so much more. The Deerfield Arts Festival is happening this Saturday and Sunday, June 1st and 2nd from 10AM to 5PM at downtown Deerfield on Park Avenue between Jewett Drive and Hazel Avenue. Admission is free and includes a kids art zone with spin art and sand sculpting and coloring, 100 artists, live music and entertainment, demonstrations and interactive exhibits, local food and drinks, and an immersive experience for all ages.
The Waukegan Pride Parade is taking place from June 1st from 2PM to 7PM, celebrating the local LGBTQ+ community with resource and educational booths, more than 50 vendors, diverse arts and entertainment, an Instagram Photo Booth, prizes and games, and so much more!
The Great Summer Camp-In is happening at the Great Wolf Lodge of Gurnee through June 2nd! This family friendly event includes room and waterpark passes and a wide schedule of free events and activities every day!
Illinois Vintage Fest is returning with this free indoor event featuring more than 200 vendors of vintage clothing and retro collectibles from June 1st through June 2nd at the Lake County Fairgrounds and Events Center.
June 6th through the 8th is the International Mural Festival at the Downtown Highwood Metra Station hosted by the Highwood Chamber of Commerce, featuring a group of 12 diverse artists painting 12 incredible murals and installations on 12 buildings around town
Retro Vinyl Tuesdays are happening at Black Lung of Fox Lake from 3PM to 10PM! Enjoy chill vibes, delicious brews and discounted pours for BYO retro vinyl! Event happens every Tuesday.
First Friday on MainStreet in Libertyville is back on June 7th. Local artisans,vendors, and food vendors will be around town and the local shops on MainStreet will be offering special discounts, live music, live entertainment, wine tastings and more!
B4 Summer Festival (Bacon Bourbon Beer and Bands) is hosted by the Chain O’ Lakes Chamber of Commerce at Richardson Adventure Farm on June 8th!
The Spring Outdoor Vintage Market is happening on June 8th with more than 40 dealers and vendors to shop at Reclaimed Artisans!
The Kids Only Flea Market is hosted by the Deerfield Park District on June 8th from 10AM to 12PM!
Late Night at the Galleries at the Art Center of Highland Park is happening on June 12th! Enjoy a live concert on the TAC lawn and bring your own snacks, dinner, picnic and blanket or lawn chair to enjoy an evening out.
The American Place Casino in Waukegan is hosting a special Juneteenth Jamboree Celebration with Motown Melodies from 7PM to 10PM on June 14th.
Pride Festivals in Illinois
The Annual Quad City UNITY Pride Parade takes place at June 1st at 11AM in downtown Moline, and features live performances, local food and vendors, live music and more!
Rockford Pride Alley Party begins at 1PM on June 1st in Rockford. It’s a free event and is open to everyone, featuring local music and entertainment, vendors, drinks and food.
The Elgin Pride Parade and Festival kicks off at 11Am on June 1st for the second year in a row with a family-friendly pride parade followed by an inclusive festival with food, music, vendors, and lots of fun at Festival Park.
Buffalo Grove Pride Parade & Picnic’s sixth annual event kicks off June 2nd at 11AM with the Pride Parade and picnic with food trucks, drinks, face painting, live entertainment, and more.
Lake County PrideFest takes place on June 8th at 2PM and is one of the area’s largest and most anticipated events. There will be food trucks, craft and art vendors, a beer and beverage tent, live music and entertainment, games, and plenty of family friendly entertainment for kids, too!
Ottawa PrideFest’s 3rd annual event will be celebrated with live music, local craft and art vendors, delicious food, fun activities and games, and much more on June 8th.
Galena Pride Picnic starts at 12PM on June 8th in Grant park and offers an inclusive and family friendly event reflecting the diversity of the local community. You’ll find facepainting and games, live entertainment and music, raffle baskets and prizes, and so much more.
Woodstock Pride Fest brings a weekend of equality and community to the area starting with a Rainbow Run and Pub Crawl on Saturday June 8th. A parade and festival with live music and entertainment and plenty of delicious food on June 9th, including a Pride Art Show!
The 5th Annual Aurora Pride Parade event starts at 12PM on June 9th with a celebration of community and inclusion for all LGBTQ+ folks with their families and their allies!
The Chicago Pride Festival is one of the nation’s largest and most enthusiastic events. This two day festival starts on June 22nd at 11AM and runs through the 23rd as a precursor to the Annual Chicago Pride Parade on June 30th. The festival includes live music and entertainment across 3 stages, over 150 food and merch vendors, a pets parade, dance demonstrations, guest speakers, the Chicago Gay Men’s Choir, and all entry fees support the event as well as local nonprofits and community organizations.
Navy Pier Pride is a free family-friendly event celebrating the LGBTQIA community through educational programming, live music and entertainment for all on June 29th.
