Our incredible neighbors to the North offer a wide array of festivals, events, and live music that are steeped in tradition and rich with local history. Participate in these charming local events and make some memories with your loved ones this summer. These interactive events make a wonderful detour from your usual camping, fishing, and outdoor activities in Door County. Experience live music and outdoor entertainment events all across the county, 5 days a week! Grab an early dinner at one of the local restaurants and head down to enjoy an outdoor concert experience at sunset. Schedule as follows: On Mondays at Harborside Park in Ephraim, entertainment begins at 6PM and includes the Door County Jazz Festival on August 4th; Thursdays head over to Peg Egan PAC at 5PM or Fish Creek Beach; Wednesdays at 6PM at the Waterfront Pavillion of Sister Bay or Martin Park of Sturgeon Bay at 7PM; and last Fridays every month (including Sept 26th) at the Marina Park Lawn of Baileys Harbor at 5PM.
The 60th Annual Fyr Bal Festival is returning starting at 8AM on Saturday, June 21st throughout the town of Ephraim! This beloved Scandinavian tradition will celebrate the transition of spring into summer along the shoreline of Eagle Harbor. Enjoy music, dancing, crafts, an artisan marketplace and more. The Bonfire begins at sunset and culminates with a fireworks display!
Door County Winefest takes place June 21st starting at 11AM Saturday. Featuring wines and tastings from the vineyards and wineries along the Door County Wine Trail. Enjoy live music, shuttles to and from the venue, great food, and sample the flavors of local wine. Tickets available online.
Don’t miss the 2nd Annual Sister Bay Historical Society Strawberry Festival on Saturday June 28th from 11AM. Featuring locally made old-fashioned strawberry shortcakes, strawberry sundays, strawberry lemonade, brats and hot dogs, and many more delicious treats. Live music and entertainment provided by The Cherry Tones along with crafts, games, local vendor market, a bake sale, and more excitement to come.
The 46th Annual Door County Folk Festival is coming to a new location this year, the MUSE Sturgeon Bay on July 11th-13th starting at 8AM. Enjoy live music and dancing lessons with demonstrations, learning local history, networking with friends and neighbors, partying, and enjoying the local scenery.
The Liberty Grove Historical Society continues their tradition with the Antique Tractors & Arts Festival on Saturday July 26th and July 27th starting at 10AM! Come and view the antique tractors and learn a little history, and then swing over to the historic buildings for a peek-in and tour. Hike through the fields and bring your own kite to enjoy an afternoon of flying. Then stop by the Arts Festival tents and enjoy the fine wares.
The Festival of Fine Arts is taking place on August 9th starting at 9AM to 4PM over at Waterfront Park in Sister Bay. This unique festival features artwork and artisan made goods along with live demonstrations by local Wisconsin based artists. You’ll enjoy walking around and watching the artists work, family friendly hands-on art activities for all ages, a free raffle featuring artwork donated by artist participants, and much more! There will also be grab-and-go art kits so you can take the supplies and make them at home to commemorate the day!
Experience an Authentic Fish Boil, a Door County tradition since the late 1800s brought over by the Scandinavian immigrants. Enjoy a traditional boil at restaurants like Island Fever Run Bar & Grill, Kettle Black Restaurant, Pelletier’s Restaurant, Waterfront Mary’s Bar & Grill and numerous other fine eateries.
