Toyota Highlighted in ‘Top 10 Long-Lasting Cars’ List

There’s been lots of exciting Toyota news to share lately. Following up on the recent recognition of Classic Toyota as a Five-star Edmunds Dealership, another study highlights an important quality of new Toyota cars — longevity. We’re extremely proud to be featuring durable cars that serve our clients well for years to come.

A new study from a Boston-based research company called iSeeCars.com carefully compared approximately 12 million cars to reveal which ones serve best after a long time. The study looked as far as models purchased in 1981, checking which cars lasted to see over 200,000 miles registered on their odometers. Finally, iSeeCars compared the sales numbers to the mileage to determine the actual top ten car list, which does not include SUVs and trucks.

The number one car on the list is the Toyota Avalon, which has 2.7 percent of cars which reached over 200,000 miles. This trusty Toyota car has been serving customers since 1995 as a reliable mid-size sedan. The 2016 Toyota Avalon features a roomy interior and a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine that outputs an impressive 268 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque.

The list is rounded out by fan-favorite Toyota Camry, which debuted in 1983, and is a great mid-size sedan choice. There are two more Toyota vehicles in this top ten: Toyota Sienna and Toyota Prius.

Toyota trucks also did really well on the second top ten list: Toyota 4Runner is sitting at the third spot, along with three more vehicles: Toyota Sequoia, Toyota Avalon, and the Toyota Tacoma.

This study is a great testament to important qualities of Toyota cars: durability and reliability. We believe those, alongside their comfort and performance quality, are what makes Toyota cars great.
