Hello everyone! Fred Marks here continuing my monthly blog series dedicated to the latest news from Toyota. This month, I’d like to report yet another affirmation of the commitment that Toyota has to an excellent customer experience. In the annual AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards (IVA), the 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid was named the top Hybrid/EV of 2013, one of three Toyota Motor Sales vehicles to make the cut.

The IVA determines its winners based on responses from 52,000 vehicle owners across all manufacturers, Toyota and otherwise. The vehicle owners are surveyed about 15 key areas of vehicle ownership expectations, including style, passenger comfort, cargo and efficiency. It’s no wonder then that the 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid fared so well.

The Avalon features Hybrid Synergy Drive, an innovative system that allows the Avalon to achieve 200 horsepower while delivering an EPA-estimated 40 mpg combined. Inside, premium upholstery and a spacious second row of seats is complemented by a 6.1-in. touch-screen with available Entune® technology that gives you easy access to navigation and multimedia, right in the center console. And, as with any Toyota vehicle, the Avalon Hybrid features a suite of standard safety features designed to keep you and your family safe.

Another reason that Gurnee dealerships are proud to offer the Avalon Hybrid (and another reason it is ranked so highly by the IVA), is that it was designed and developed in the United States, with all assembly taking place at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing plant in Georgetown, Kentucky. This commitment to domestic manufacturing and job creation is something we can all get behind, another demonstration of the commitment at Toyota to do things right, right here at home.
