2014 Toyota Sienna: The Only Minivan sold in the U.S. with All-Wheel Drive

For years, Toyota has remained a cornerstone of the minivan category. The nameplate has continued to innovate, including the latest and greatest in terms of safety, technology and efficiency. The 2014 Toyota Sienna continues this tradition, including All-Wheel Drive, something that no other minivan sold in the United States can offer. Here are some more details. All-Wheel Drive comes in handy for family drivers, especially when paired with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, good for 266 horsepower, which comes standard on every trim level. This means all-terrain control, and sufficient power to get the job done with a full load, whether it is merging, passing or climbing up the hill. What’s more, the 2014 Toyota Sienna gets an EPA-estimated 18 mpg city / 25 highway, which means fewer stops at the pump. Inside, the new Toyota Sienna features versatile seven- or eight-passenger configurations that allow you to fit a lot of people, a lot of things or an eclectic combination of both. No matter who is riding along, they will be entertained thanks to an available Entune® Multimedia and Split-Screen Rear Seat Entertainment System. If you’re looking for the 2014 Toyota Sienna in Chicago, you know that a minivan isn’t complete without strong safety features. The Sienna features the Toyota Star Safety System™, which includes Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), and Smart Stop Technology (SST). And this robust safety package is just part of what sets the Toyota Sienna apart from its competitors.

Despite economic downturn, Toyota is expanding in Detroit

In terms of the economy, the past few years have been rough. Jobs are hard to come by, expansion has halted and the automotive world has seen vast changes. Perhaps no city in America has been more impacted than Detroit, Michigan, home to some of the world’s most well known nameplates. One of those nameplates, Toyota, is battling through these economic downtimes. Recently, the Toyota Technical Center (TTC) announced an investment of over $28 million that will expand powertrain operations at the two Toyota facilities in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Toyota dealerships in Kenosha are all abuzz about the expansion. The investment will support powertrain development, including the design and evaluation of new engine and transmission projects. This investment is the latest in a long tradition of Toyota investment in North America. For over 10 years, Toyota manufactured engines and transmissions here in the U.S.., including nearly $2 billion invested in North American manufacturing facilities in the past 20 months. It is estimated that these investments have created 4,000 new jobs. The addition of jobs, and the expansion of large companies, in the United States is always welcome news. It’s especially welcome to Kenosha Toyota dealers, who have always maintained a vested interest in their communities. And their showrooms benefit from the innovation and invention that takes place at places like Ann Arbor Michigan, where the nuts and bolts of the next generation of Toyota vehicles are matched. To see the fruits of these labors, be sure to check out our online inventory to see all that we have stock. You’ll soon realize the very high level of quality that the folks at Toyota hold themselves to, and continue to strive toward.

True Marksmanship: Fred’s take on the month at Classic Toyota

Hello everyone! Fred Marks here continuing my monthly blog series dedicated to the latest news from Toyota. This month, I'd like to report yet another affirmation of the commitment that Toyota has to an excellent customer experience. In the annual AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards (IVA), the 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid was named the top Hybrid/EV of 2013, one of three Toyota Motor Sales vehicles to make the cut. The IVA determines its winners based on responses from 52,000 vehicle owners across all manufacturers, Toyota and otherwise. The vehicle owners are surveyed about 15 key areas of vehicle ownership expectations, including style, passenger comfort, cargo and efficiency. It's no wonder then that the 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid fared so well. The Avalon features Hybrid Synergy Drive, an innovative system that allows the Avalon to achieve 200 horsepower while delivering an EPA-estimated 40 mpg combined. Inside, premium upholstery and a spacious second row of seats is complemented by a 6.1-in. touch-screen with available Entune® technology that gives you easy access to navigation and multimedia, right in the center console. And, as with any Toyota vehicle, the Avalon Hybrid features a suite of standard safety features designed to keep you and your family safe. Another reason that Gurnee dealerships are proud to offer the Avalon Hybrid (and another reason it is ranked so highly by the IVA), is that it was designed and developed in the United States, with all assembly taking place at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing plant in Georgetown, Kentucky. This commitment to domestic manufacturing and job creation is something we can all get behind, another demonstration of the commitment at Toyota to do things right, right here at home.

Strong first quarter sales for Toyota, Camry a centerpiece

The Toyota Motor Corporation recently announced North America vehicle sales of 688,656 units in the first quarter of 2013, an increase of 26,309 units compared to the same period last fiscal year. This surge in sales was lead by the impressive performance of the 2013 Toyota Camry, the family sedan that has remained a centerpiece of the Toyota line, year in and year out. Let's take a closer look at what gives this model longevity in such a volatile, competitive automobile market. Since its inception, the Camry has built on a tradition of dependability and fuel efficiency to become the refined, fun-to-drive mid-sized sedan that it is today. In 2013, the Camry boasts an interior characterized by high-quality materials and equipped with available navigation, a multimedia system, advanced voice-recognition and Entune® technology. Under the hood, the Camry keeps it exciting with an available 3.5-liter, V6 engine good for 268 horsepower and EPA-estimated 31 mph highway. Of course, the standard 4-liter engine offers even better fuel economy, while the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine in the Camry Hybrid gives you the best of both worlds thanks to the innovative Hybrid Synergy Drive® system. And the dependability I was talking about earlier? Turns out that 90% of all Toyota Camry models sold in the last 10 years are still on the road. The same goes for safety: the Camry features a robust standard safety suite that helped it become a 2013 IIHS Top Safety Pick. Strong quarterly sales numbers are nice, but it it is nicer to know that these numbers are driven by the success of models like the Toyota Camry. It means that, if you are looking for a 2013 Toyota Camry in Kenosha, you know you will be getting one of the most dependable, all-around vehicles on the market today.

True Marksmanship: Fred’s take on the month at Classic Toyota

Hello everyone! Fred Marks here continuing my monthly blog series dedicated to the latest news from Toyota. In the spirit of summer and all the fun it brings, I'd like to spend some time this month to write about the 2014 Toyota Highlander. While this popular SUV certainly has the requisite capability to furnish your adventurous side over the summer months and beyond, the folks at Toyota have taken it a step further with a special Nickelodeon SpongeBob SquarePants -inspired Toyota Highlander. This one-time concept is the first of its kind, and it pays tribute to the high-energy, positive character of the ever-popular children's show, SpongeBob SquarePants. The concept features a bright, colorful interior and exterior themed after the Nickelodeon cartoon, and will be unveiled during an upcoming baseball game in San Diego before it embarks on a national promotional tour. The message: have fun when you drive and be safe!   I think this is a fine message to be communicating to the nation's young people. And what better vehicle than the dynamic 2014 Toyota Highlander to do it with? This model year, the Highlander has received key updates, like  soft-touch interior materials, chrome plating and a more spacious third row, to compliment a performance and cargo package that can handle anything you throw at it. And while the Highlander you drive off the lot won't be themed after any cartoons, it will feature a redesigned front end and altogether sleeker look.   As any Waukegan dealer will tell you, the 2014 Toyota Highlander is highly-anticipated for many reasons. First and foremost, as the new SpongeBob -inspired Highlander demonstrates, is the kind of fun, safe driving that Toyota vehicles have long been known for.

2014 Toyota Corolla puts a new signature on an industry staple

For 47 years, the Toyota Corolla has remained an iconic compact in the automotive industry, with nearly 40 million in sales and a strong following of loyal drivers. This year, the 11th-generation, 2014 Toyota Corolla will receive some surprising updates, including brave updates to the exterior that are already turning heads. All indicators point to the new Corolla continuing to carry the flag of its predecessors. So far, it is the exterior updates to the Corolla that have the industry talking. It's clear that Toyota is striving for a more modern design, as indicated by an altogether more expressive exterior characterized by distinctive creases and elegantly sculpted surfaces. To round out this new, more agile look, customers will have ample choice in wheels, from covered 15-inch steel to 17-inch alloy wheels, as well as three more exterior colors. Toyota tops retail sales in May

For the third consecutive time this year, Toyota Motor Sales was the number 1 retail manufacturer after solid sales performance in May. This is just the latest victory in a series of momentum-building months so far this year. But the proof is in the pudding: Toyota Motor Sales posted sales of 207,952 units last month, a 2.5-percent increase compared to May of 2012. Toyota Division itself saw sales of 185,723 units in May, a 2.3 percent increase versus the same month last year. Maybe it's the weather; or maybe it's an exciting line of vehicles that covers the gamut, from reliable hybrids to dynamic crossovers like the 2013 Toyota RAV4 that can do it all. Across the board, the entire Toyota line of vehicles had a good month: Retail sales up 7.5 percent Hybrid sales up 16.7 percent Camry sales of 39,216 units Prius family sales increase nearly 10 percent Avalon sales increased 260 percent (7,099 units) RAV4 posted best-ever May sales of 20,780 units (8 percent increase) Tacoma sales of 14,727 units (a 20 percent increase) Tundra sales of 9,950 units (a 13.5 percent increase) In Libertyville, Toyota dealerships are certainly thrilled with all of the momentum that the Toyota nameplate has this year. Our success represents the commitment that Toyota has to delivering an efficient, affordable and safe vehicle in each category that it touches, from pickup trucks to hybrids. If the sales highlights listed above are any indication--and we think they are--than Toyota is doing a pretty darn good job at the moment.
