If you can, move your car off the road so you do not block traffic. Protect yourself and others from oncoming traffic. Failure to stop at the scene of a collision in which you are involved can result in your arrest warrant. You could be convicted of hit and run. Exchange information with other drivers involved in the accident as soon as possible. Get information:  names, telephone number, drivers license and insurance information. from the other driver(s) involved in the collision. If you hit an unattended vehicle, you must make a reasonable effort to find the owner of the vehicle or property damaged in the collision. If you cannot locate anyone, leave a note with your name and contact information that can be found easily at the scene of the collision. You must also report the collision to the police. If you are at fault: Call your insurance company and start the claims process. They will walk you through every step. They should have a 1-800 # on the back of your insurance card or on their web site so you can start your claim no matter the time of day ( 24R) line. If you are not at fault: You will still need to inform your insurance company that someone else hit you as a precaution. However, you will also need to call the at fault party's insurance company and start a claim with them, and y ou will need their policy # (This is known as being the claimant.) Note: Make sure to get a claim number and have the name of your insurance number handy! Some insurance companies will write their own estimate, some will ask you to send photos in to them or use an app. If you are unsure how to use the app or send the proper photos in Contact the shop of your choosing and ask for help. ( I'd love to help) From there you can then decide on a repair facility. Note: You have the right to choose your own body shop. The insurance company probably will recommend a shop, but it is YOUR decision.  It is illegal for an insurance company to force, require or pressure you into using a particular shop. Call the shop of your choice, schedule a time and date to have the repairs estimated. Make sure to provide a claim number and insurance company. Our shop will get the estimate done, and will begin repairs upon approval from the insurance company. You don’t have to worry at all, our shop will order parts if needed and schedule anything else needed for repairs. Any questions, call Classic body shop! Classic Body Shop Toyota

Brake Maintenance at Classic Toyota

At Classic Toyota, we don't just help you drive away in a vehicle like the 2018 Toyota Camry or the 2018 Toyota RAV4. We also help our customers take great care of their car, to ensure that it lives a long and healthy life. One thing that the experts in our Toyota service center can help you with is brake upkeep. Now's a great time to make sure that your brakes are in top shape. more Like many of the other critical systems that help your vehicle run, your brakes are made up of a variety of parts. Our experienced technicians can examine each part for potential problems. Is the brake fluid reservoir holding enough brake fluid? Are the brake lines bringing that fluid to the master cylinder like they're supposed to? Is the master brake cylinder sending stopping pressure to the wheels like it should? We can examine your brakes closely and answer all of these question and more. We can also see if you require some new Toyota parts, like brake pads. Brake maintenance is so important because brakes that are functioning better are better at keeping you safe on the road. You want your car to stop when you need it too. A slight delay or issue could mean the difference between avoiding an accident and getting into a collision. That could mean costly bodywork, dealing with insurance companies, and other headaches. Proper brake upkeep can help you avoid those hassles. If you're in the Gurnee, IL area and wondering “Where is there a Toyota service center near me?”, we're ready to help you. We'll help with brake maintenance and the rest of your automotive needs, keeping you safer all season long. We look forward to assisting you!

Spring Cleaning at Classic Toyota

We're all familiar with the concept of spring cleaning. It's what we all do at home once the cold winter months are behind us and the promise of warmer weather arrives. Classic Toyota, your friendly Waukegan Toyota dealer, is here to remind you that spring cleaning also applies to your vehicle and we're here to assist! It's a great time of year to address any service and maintenance needs that may have been put on the backburner during the winter months and, in some cases, the perfect time to upgrade your vehicle entirely with a brilliant new Toyota model. We have you covered on all fronts and we'd like to take this opportunity to mention a few important automotive spring cleaning items that you don't want to forget! Perhaps you've had your current vehicle for a number of years or maybe you just got yourself a 2018 Toyota Camry last year (if so, great choice - KBB.com raved about its "reliability, satisfaction, and ease of use"). Regardless of what you're driving, it's essential to stay on top of the service and maintenance your vehicle needs. It's very common for drivers to postpone addressing these things during the winter when you're driving less, stuck inside, and focused on all the seasonal activities and holidays that winter brings. Now that the spring is here, it's the perfect time to bring your vehicle in for its own spring cleaning. Things like tire rotations (or tire changes if you installed winter tires), oil changes, fluid checks, brake checks, and many other maintenance items are essential if you want to maximize performance and preserve longevity. The Toyota service center at our dealership in Waukegan is the best place to get every service your vehicle needs and our team of skilled technicians work quickly and efficiently. Classic Toyota aims to be your go-to car dealership and your number one destination for all your automotive needs. We look forward to showing you everything we have to offer and hope to have that opportunity soon. Thanks and have a great day!

October is Fall Car Care Month

Classic Toyota, a leading Toyota dealership in Waukegan, IL, wants to remind its valued Toyota customers that October is Fall Car Care Month. This Illinois dealership feels that fall is the ideal time to give your new Toyota car some extra attention before the harsh winter weather sets in. Tires: On icy and snow-covered roads, your car’s tires make the difference between keeping a firm grip on the road or sliding into danger. Now that the temperature has dropped, check your tire pressure regularly. Cold temperatures can cause tires to lose air pressure. If you need new tires, Classic Toyota has a tire saving event (buy three tires and the fourth costs only a dollar). Battery: If your Toyota Camry or Toyota Highlander is hard to start and has dim headlights when the engine is turned off, your battery is getting weak and should be replaced with a new Toyota TrueStart battery. It’s especially important to have a strong battery in winter to quickly start your car on cold mornings. Wipers: During the winter, your windshield wipers are more important than ever. Getting a new set of wipers at Classic Toyota will ensure you always have a clear view of upcoming traffic and drivers. Scrape ice off your wipers before you run them. Fluids: It’s a good idea to take a look at your Toyota car’s fluids for winter driving. These include antifreeze, motor oil, brake and battery cleaner, transmission and brake fluid. Check under the hood to ensure that your windshield washer reservoir is filled. If it’s time for an oil change, ask your Classic Toyota technicians whether they recommend a winter-weight oil for your vehicle. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment at our Illinois Toyota dealership, call us. Our service technicians would be happy to help get your car prepared. We can't wait to hear from you!
