• The Deep Dish Pizza we know and love today was created in 1943, when pals Ike Sewell and Ric Riccardo crafted the first Italian-American version of pizza at their restaurant, Pizzeria Uno in Chicago.
• The average adult in the US will eat about 6,000 slices of pizza in their lifetime.
• Americans eat about 350 slices of pizza per second
• The United States eats more than three billion pizzas annually, with an average of 8 million pizzas being ordered every day.
