Winterize Your Toyota Vehicle

We all know that winters in northern Illinois can be vicious. Even the Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts more snow in Illinois and the lower Great Lakes region this winter with the coldest period being from mid-December through late February. Here are a few tips to winterize your Toyota car:

If you’re due for a tune-up, please schedule one with our service department. Winter magnifies existing problems such as pings, hard starts, sluggish performance or rough idling.
Let our service department check your battery and charging system for optimum performance. Toyota engineers have approved our Toyota TrueStart batteries for years of trouble-free service.
Put new antifreeze in the cooling system.
Check out your heaters, defrosters and wipers and purchase new winter wiper blades from us.
Check your tires for tread depth and pressure. If snow and ice are a problem in your area, consider special tires designed to grip slick roads. Our factory trained and certified Toyota technicians will ensure that your tires are mounted, balanced and inflated to match your Toyota vehicle’s specifications. We often offer tire specials.
Schedule a Toyota Brake Inspection with our service department. You’ll need brakes on Waukegan’s icy roads.
Toyota drivers should also keep the gas tank at least half full at all times to decrease the chances of moisture forming in the gas lines and possibly freezing.
